Three Famous Soldiers Brass Quintet

by Eddie Lewis

Three Famous Soldiers tells the story of three of Kind David’s “Mighty Warriors” that crossed into Philistine to fetch a drink of water from a well (2 Samuel 23:13-17). It is a major work intended primarily for formal brass quintet recitals.

This was my most serious work when I composed it, back in 2002. It has since been performed by brass quintets around the world.

The recording features:

Darryl Bayer – Trumpet
Eddie Lewis – Trumpet
Ben Jabor – Horn
Thomas Hulten – Trombone
David Kirk – Tuba

The recording was made at David Kirk’s faculty recital at Rice University.
