WARNING: This arrangement of Angels from the Realms of Glory is also number 21 in the Trumpet Hymn Duets book. If you purchase that book, this same arrangement is already included.
Angels from the Realms of Glory
James Montgomery, Henry T. Smart
Arr. Eddie Lewis
You might be thinking, “why is Eddie Lewis including a Christmas carol in his Trumpet Hymn Duets series and book?” The truth is, Angels from the Realms of Glory shares the same tune, “Regents Square”, as literally dozens of traditional Christian hymns. The only reason I used Angels from the Realms of Glory as the title is because this is the hymn that most people associate with the Regents Square melody.
I think the second most popular hymn on this tune is probably Christ is Made the Sure Foundation.
Trumpet Hymn Duets
Angels from the Realms of Glory is trumpet duet number twenty in the Trumpet Hymn Duets series. This is a series of trumpet duets written in a way that utilizes creative compositional techniques while at the same time remaining true to the harmonies and mood of the original hymn.
I will probably continue to write more of these duets in the future, but after we finish Trumpet Hymn Duet number twenty-one, we will be taking a break from the series to spend time compiling them all into a book.
