Description
Unadorned Christmas Carol Duets
Compiled and Arranged by Eddie Lewis
Unadorned Christmas Carol Duets is a book of seventy-six Christmas carols arranged for trumpet duet.
Included in the book are carols from around the world. There are Christmas carols from America, Czechoslovakia, England, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, The Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Ukraine, and Wales.
The Christmas carols in this book are “unadorned”, meaning that there are no fancy treatments of the original carols. There are no embellishments, no modulations, no introductions, and no fancy endings. These Christmas carol arrangements are beautiful in their simplicity.
The overall skill level of Unadorned Christmas Carol Duets is for intermediate trumpet players. The key signatures of the duets include up to two flats and up to four sharps, with the majority of these Christmas carols being in one flat or one sharp. Of the 76 duets, only 9 of them have notes above the staff. There are three written As and twelve written Gs. The rest of the book is in the staff with 32 of the duets having fourth space E as their highest notes.
Unadorned Christmas Carol Duets are ideal for any type of Christmas celebration. You can perform them at churches, at schools, at shopping malls, at airports, Christmas parties, and outdoor concerts. They even work great for sight-reading in your trumpet lessons during the Christmas season. No matter how you use them, the Unadorned Christmas Carol Duets are sure to brighten your holidays!
Different from Trumpet Christmas Duets
We already have a book of Christmas trumpet duets so it is important that we clarify the differences between the two books. Our Trumpet Christmas Duets book contains twenty-one Christmas carols which are fully arranged. The trumpet duets in that book have introductions, modulations and stylistic interpretations of the Christmas carols.
In contrast, the Christmas carols in this Unadorned Christmas Carol Duets book are practically “unarranged”, meaning that they have no introductions, no fancy endings, no modulations and no stylistic interpretations. They are simple and unadorned.
