Description
Easter Fanfare
Trumpet Quartet Sheet Music PDF
by Eddie Lewis
This original fanfare written in five-four time is one of our better selling pieces. It sounds like an Easter fanfare, proclaiming that our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ has risen from the grave. The fanfare features a call and response section at the beginning which is followed by an episode of flourishes. There is a repeated section which is optional, according to how long you need the fanfare to be.
The Composition’s Background
For twenty years I attended churches that only had praise and worship music. For the first ten of those years I was hired to play in a praise and worship band for a nondenominational congregation. For the second ten of those twenty years Pearl and I were members of a church that did not have any traditional music at all.
During those two decades of my life I often hungered for worshipful art music. Instead of complaining about it, I decided to invest that hunger into my own compositions. This Easter Fanfare was composed when I got home after an Easter service that, in my opinion, had no Easter music in it. I fed that hunger with something that I would have liked to hear on Easter Sunday.
