What sets Tiger Music apart from other trumpet sheet music stores is the distinction between each product's skill level. We sell trumpet ebooks and sheet music for seven different skill levels ranging from absolute beginners to advance professionals. Some of our most popular sheet music pieces are composed for the absolute beginners. We feel as if that skill level is underserved in the trumpet sheet music industry.
That said, we have plenty of ebooks and sheet music titles for all seven skill levels.
The first skill level in our system is called the Trumpet Pioneer. The Trumpet Pioneer student is only now "exploring" the trumpet for the first time.
One of the reasons Eddie Lewis first began composing so much trumpet music is because he couldn't find sheet music that fits the parameters of his beginner students. Almost every solo or ensemble he found that was supposed to be written for beginners either had a range that was too high, rhythms that were to advanced, or key signatures with too many sharps or flats.
We believe that beginners should be encouraged to perform as soon as possible. But we also believe in always performing music that is already within your skill level.
Apparently, other trumpet teachers believe the same thing, because Eddie Lewis' beginner compositions are sold around the world.
We consider our Trumpet Tyro Skill Level to be our second "beginner" skill level. We differentiate music and books in this skill level from the absolute beginner products by describing them as "easy", as opposed to "beginner". This is a convention we follow throughout the website.
The word "Tyro" is simply another word for "Beginner". Sheet music and ebooks in this skill level add a few more key signatures, a little more range and slightly more advanced rhythms.
The Trumpet Player Skill Level is the first of two intermediate skill levels. We call it the "Trumpet Player" level because a student who masters all the aspects of this skill level can now genuinely call himself a real trumpet player. The materials in this skill level cover 90% of everything you'll need to perform in most ensembles.
The top note in the Trumpet Player Skill Level is G (or G Sharp) above the staff.
We have received many requests for well written music that remains in the staff. Whether those requests came from students who haven't developed their ranges yet, or older players who don't have the chops they used to have, there is a real need for music that stays in the staff.
Sheet music and books at the Trumpet Player Skill Level meet that need.
The Trumpet Apprentice Skill level is the second of our intermediate skill levels. The range for this skill level is limited to the B Flat above the staff. As we get more advanced, it becomes more difficult for us to explain all of the new parameters of each skill level, simple because it covers many different aspects.
That said, range is one of the things a lot of people are looking for. The range for this skill level is very specific. It is an intermediate range that leans towards the coveted High C. Students should camp out in this skill level for a while before the begin "shooting for the stars" so to speak.
We call this level the "Apprentice" level because it is just one step away from professional.
The Trumpet Pro Skill Level is exactly what it sounds like. Trumpet players who master all of the materials in this skill level are ready for the pros! This is the first of three "advanced" skill levels in our system.
The Trumpet Master Skill Level is for trumpet players who want to take there musicianship to the next level beyond just professional. Think, advanced college level!
