“The Legends of Zing” is a march in traditional American march form. The original version of the song is a trumpet duet in Eddie Lewis’ duet book called “Celebrations – 101 Original Trumpet Duets”. Lewis “orchestrated” it for brass quintet two years after the first edition release of the popular "Celebrations". This march is perfect for performances in the park or in your local mall.
“The Legends of Zing” is a fun march with interesting twists and turns. The first theme has a five bar phrase followed by a six bar phrase. The trio is surprisingly subtle, and the Dog Fight is a perfect opportunity for the low brass to splatter their loud, low chops all over the trumpets.
"The Legends of Zing" promises to be as much fun for the quintet to play as it is for the audience to listen to.
